The City of Southgate Parks & Recreation boasts a beautiful Municipal Complex area on Reaume Parkway and Dix-Toledo Road with Recreation amenities such as an Ice Arena/Civic Center with 2 indoor ice rinks, 10 baseball/softball fields, golf course, inline rink, pavilion, and playground. Along with their 11 other parks, it totals just over 51 acres of land. That doesn’t include the Southgate Nature Center, which is about 40 acres near Southgate Anderson High School. The City has a partnership with Southgate Community Schools that provided a Nature Center and walking trail that is part of the Downriver Linked Greenways.

Market Center Park has become the place for music and outdoor markets. Weekly Thursday themed events occur throughout the summer courtesy of our Downtown Development Authority (DDA). Other special events are held here throughout the year. Check out the Recreation/DDA calendar for more information.
