MEALS ON WHEELS
Meals on Wheels (MOW) hot congregate meals are coming back on Mondays & Tuesdays starting May 9th at 11am. This program is for seniors 60 yrs or older and their spouses. Wayne County is hoping to add more days soon.
Sign up with Michele in MOW office located in the pool room at the Sr. Center or with Diane in the Sr. Center office M-Thurs 9am-3pm. Meals on Wheels will need volunteers to help pack meals & deliver to the homebound starting May 9th. Kitchen volunteer hours will be 8am-12pm Mon & Tues (starting out). Hoping to be back to Mon-Fri by Sept. 30, 2022. Driver hours are 9-11am using their own vehicle, mileage reimbursement is available. This is a Wayne County Program. If you are interested in getting home delivery, please call them directly at 734.326.5202. To qualify for home delivery, you must be 60+ and drive very little or not at all. You must also sign up for at least 3 days a week. Michelle Miller and a team of volunteers run the kitchen to put together 90+ meals for homebound residents and serve lunches here at the Senior Center. Currently ONLY pick-up.
