Opened in 1977, this Southgate golf course has gained the reputation of providing a fun and affordable place to play golf near Detroit. Great pride is taken in providing excellent conditions and our always friendly staff is excited to greet you. The South Winds has 14 challenging Par 3’s that average 160 yards. Longest being 186 yards. Our Par 4’s are all dog legs that allow the player to gamble. Great shots are rewarded, bad ones are penalized.
The greens at Southwinds are some of the best you’re going to find near Detroit. Well bunkered, with water coming into play, make them a challenge to hit.

The beautiful 18-hole layout, featuring challenging par 3’s, accented with par 4 holes, is a popular place for local Detroit golfers. Meticulously manicured greens are guarded by well groomed bunkers, three lakes and a meandering creek. A full service Southgate golf facility offers leagues, outings, restaurant, pro shop, practice range and golf instruction.
