Southgate Historical Foundation Mission
The Southgate Historical Foundation is an IRS designated 501(c) 3, tax-exempt, non-profit charitable organization, and is self-funding. It exists exclusively for charitable and educational purposes dedicated to the perpetuation and preservation of the memory of persons, events, and items of historical interest. Through memberships and donations we are able to support community events in cooperation with the City of Southgate, Michigan.
Monthly Board of Directors Meetings
Our monthly Board of Directors meetings are open to the public, and are held the first Monday of the month at 4:00pm in the Southgate Historical House and Museum, 14120 Dix, Southgate, MI 48195. Community members, especially those who love history, are invited to attend these meetings to learn more about the work of the Foundation, as well as to provide information or suggestions that may further the Foundation’s work. Our Board of Directors consists of up to 15 non-paid volunteers within the community.
MUSEUM HOURS
We are open the first full weekend of each month from 2pm to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday.Individual or group tours may be scheduled by calling 734-775-0425.
