DPS Responsibilities
CITY BUILDINGS
The Public Service Skilled Trade Division is responsible for upkeep, remodeling, and all other repair and maintenance in regards to all City buildings.
CITY PARKS
The DPS is responsible for all maintenance and repair to 20 City park sites, alleys, and ditches and backslopes.
CITY EQUIPMENT
The DPS Garage mechanics are responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of all equipment and vehicles used by the following departments: Administration, Building, Department of Public Works, Fire, Forestry, Police, Recreation, and Water.
FORESTRY
The DPS provides tree removals, tree planting, tree trimming, emergency cutting, and all other duties related to City right-of-way trees, shrubs, etc.
LOCAL & MAJOR STREETS
The DPS provides patch, repair, snow removal, leaf control, "crack seal”, and all other related maintenance or repairs to local and major City streets.
STORM DRAINS & SANITARY SEWERS
The DPS provides repair, cleaning, video, installation, and all other related repair and maintenance services in regards to storm drains and sanitary sewers.
STREET LIGHT TROUBLE REPORT

TRAFFIC SIGNAGE
The DPS provides repair and maintenance of current signage, installation of new signs (for subdivisions, etc.), signage throughout the City per Council and Police Resolutions.
WATER DEPARTMENT
The DPS is responsible for water taps, water main repairs, meter repairs, meter installations, meter exchanges, meter readings, and all other duties related to water repair and maintenance.
