The Police Department provides a full range of police services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Department is responsible for patrolling City neighborhoods, responding to calls for police service, investigating crimes and arresting offenders, working closely with the community to identify and solve problems of crime and neighborhood disorderas well as dispatching fire and emergency medical services.

H.E.A.T. (Help Eliminate Auto Thefts), Michigan’s statewide auto theft prevention program. For the past 25 years, H.E.A.T. has been working with law enforcement agencies to reduce auto theft in Michigan. H.E.A.T. awards tipsters for their information that leads to an arrest or conviction of an auto-theft suspect.
