Councilman John Graziani
I have lived in Southgate for 43 years. I enjoy
sports, especially baseball and soccer. I am married to my wife, Mary Ann, for
23 years and have two sons.
My son,Christian, is a graduate of Anderson High School in 2012 and is currently a student at University of Michigan Dearborn. Joshua is in 7th grade at Creative Montessori in Southgate.
I graduated from Southgate Schafer High School in 1980 and have a Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan in Economics and Government. I have a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit School of Law and have attended the University of Notre Dame School of Law Program in London, England.
I am a
practicing attorney with a law office in Southgate for the last 22 years.
I have been practicing for 25 years. I have served on the Council for 12
years. I am currently Council President Pro-tem. I am Counsel
Liaison for Planning Commissionand a member of the Employees Municipal
Dear Southgate Neighbor,
I am very proud to be serving on the city council and along with the rest of the Council, Mayor, Clerk, and Treasurer. I look forward to providing the best possible service to our residents. We will always strive to be as accessible as possible. My goal as an elected official has always been to focus on quality economic development with a constant emphasis on improvement. I plan to continue working hard to:
Maintain our residential areas against unwanted and haphazard economic development
Continue bringing quality development to Southgate
Make Southgate more cost effective
Get citizens more involved in our city government
Continue to improve the quality of life in Southgate
Maintain safety in our neighborhoods.
The City Council encourages citizen involvement and welcomes residents to our meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 8:00 PM. We welcome input through phone calls, mail and of course, email.
My pledge to you is to always make sure that Southgate remains financially responsible and to also make sure that Southgate can be the very best it can be.
